A quick summary of the Swansea Bay Tourism Awards so far…

• The Awards started in 2006 and are held every other year
• The 2008 awards received 150 entries / nominations and in 2010 we received 365 entries / nominations from all sectors of the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality industry and nearly 400 people attended the awards ceremony in both 2008 & 2010. 
• swanseabaytourismawards.co.uk website was added in 2008 to help market the awards, giving both sponsors and winners a better opportunity to maximise on their publicity.  In 2010 the awards website received over 16,000 unique visitors.  And in this year alone, despite not having the awards in 2011, the website still received 20,000 unique visitors. 
• The awards are not just for Tourism Swansea Bay members, they are for the whole industry in the Swansea Bay area and we aim to contact every, tourism, leisure and hospitality business, encouraging them to enter the awards and join in the celebrations.
